Felted Fragments
Five performances that attempt to mend fissures between mind and body; a body sized liminal skin made of wool that mimics, mirrors, and holds the artist’s body through joint experiences over the period of a year. Click here to read more.

These are four Polaroids that document the first of five performances that took place over a year, in a series called “Felted Fragments.” In this initial piece, the artist wet felts a body sized piece of felt from wool roving. This acts as the creation of a secondary body/skin, which follows and mirrors the artist’s body throughout the remaining performances.

Two Polaroids that document the second of five performances in the series “Felted Fragments.” In this performance, the artist pours salt into bath water, descends into the water, then spins and thrashes in the tub while the water slowly drains out. Once the water is entirely drained, the artist dries herself off with the felted skin, comforting new wounds.
